The two militaries agreed to a quick stop-fire this weekend to evacuate some civilians from the plant. Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko clarified Tuesday that the greater part of those evacuated were refugees from other cities, not Mariupol citizens.

“The past evacuation, which took area yesterday, which was introduced by a number of media outlets as information and facts that those had been the people of Mariupol who remaining is not correct. These individuals who were evacuated had practically nothing to do with the inhabitants of Mariupol. They are from other metropolitan areas,” Boichenko stated.
